Criticism Of Police Forces

EDM number 472 in 2005-06, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 30/06/2005.

That this House notes the comments of a totally undeserved and unacceptable nature about the police in Northern Ireland made by political leaders and commentators in the Republic of Ireland over a sustained period of years; also notes the second report of the Morris Tribunal into serious allegations surrounding alleged corruption among members of the police in the Irish Republic; and awaits with interest any moves by the authorities in that country to introduce monitoring bodies such as an Oversight Commissioner, Policing Ombudsman, Policing Board etc. which could be of help to citizens from the UK who would have complaints of alleged Irish police behaviour when in that country.

This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
