Higher Tax For Frequent Air Travel

EDM number 1109 in 2006-07, proposed by David Crausby on 13/03/2007.

That this House recognises that the Government has a moral responsibility to act on climate change and tackle carbon dioxide emissions from aircraft; deplores the Leader of the Opposition's plans to introduce a higher rate of tax for frequent travellers; believes that taxing frequent air travellers regardless of their family circumstances is unacceptable and will penalise relatives visiting families abroad; and supports the Government's alternative proposals to introduce incentives rather than punishments to reduce carbon emissions.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
