Funding For Metrolink

That this House welcomes the announcement made by the Secretary of State for Transport of £502 million of funding for Manchester Metrolink; notes that £244 million of this will allow the go-ahead of the Metrolink to Oldham, Rochdale and Chorlton; further notes that an additional £400 million will be required if Metrolink is to go into Oldham and Rochdale town centres, to Ashton and to Manchester Airport; and urges the Secretary of State to release the additional resources to enable this project to be completed.
