Visit Of Yemeni Foreign Minister

That this House welcomes the visit of the Yemeni Foreign Minister, Dr Abu-Bakr Al-Qirbi to the UK and to Parliamentin the week of31 January 2011; congratulatesthe Government on inviting him to the UK to review Yemen's situation prior to the Friends of Yemen meeting in March; notes that Yemen is the poorest nation in the Middle East; further notes that the Yemeni Government is combating the growth of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula within the country; calls on the Government to continue to develop bilateral relations with Yemen; and urges the Government to work with the Yemeni Government to develop an action plan for combating terrorism and improving the economic situation in Yemen.
