Future Of Levenshulme Baths

EDM number 1482 in 2010-12, proposed by Gerald Kaufman on 28/02/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Local government.

That this House congratulates Save Levenshulme Baths, Friends of Levenshulme, Labour Councillor Julie Reid, Labour standard-bearers Aftab Ahmed and Peter Cookson and Councillor Mike Amesbury, Manchester City Council Executive Member for Leisure, on working so hard and so successfully to make sure Levenshulme Baths remain open; welcomes the imaginative plan, officially agreed, that the present baths will remain open and functioning until newly-built baths are opened some two years from now; and contrasts community and Labour positive action with the negative whining of Manchester Liberal Democrats, whose coalition in Whitehall and Westminster with the Tories has penalised Manchester as one of the top four victims in Britain of Liberal Democrat and Conservative savage local government cuts.

This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
