That this House notes that Warton in Morecambe and Lunesdale is the ancestral home of the Washington family; further notes that the coat of arms of the village formed the basis of the Stars and Stripes flag of the United States of America; believes that a visit to this historic village should form part of the state visit of President Barack Obama; and further believes that this visit would give the area the profile it needs to become a popular tourist attraction.
