Opening Of Headingley Enterprise And Arts Centre

That this Housecelebrates the opening of Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre (HEART) in Leeds; recognises the amazing achievement of Headingley Development Trust in dedicating over five years' work and raising over 105,000 towards the costs of establishing HEART, a groundbreaking new facility for the local area delivering meeting rooms, floor space for events and exhibitions, arts spaces as well as a cafe and business centre for the local community; notes the positive impact that such a resource could have on the area; congratulates the Trust on the opening of HEART in January; welcomes such examples of inspiring, proactive work by local communities in delivering such amenities; wishes Headingley Development Trust success in this and all their future projects; and commends the councillors of Leeds City Council Executive Board for taking the decision in March 2009 to support such a deserving initiative with the funding it requires and long-term leasing of the premises.
