Industrial Action Over Pensions

EDM number 2183 in 2010-12, proposed by John McDonnell on 14/09/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Industrial relations and Pensions.

That this House expresses its concern that the Government is refusing to engage in meaningful negotiations with the trade unions on the future of public sector pensions and appears to be intent on provoking an industrial dispute; therefore calls on the Government to negotiate seriously in the next stage of these negotiations to seek a just settlement and avoid industrial action; and, if the Government succeeds in provoking a strike, calls on all hon. Members to support the unions in this dispute and join the union picket lines, demonstrations and rallies.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
