City Of London Corporation (No. 2)

EDM number 2389 in 2010-12, proposed by John McDonnell on 07/11/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Local government.

That this House calls on the Government to launch an inquiry into the activities of the City of London Corporation reported in The Guardian on 7 November 2011 related to the investment of City funds in the acquisition of East London sites for developments opposed by local residents groups for, and which it is claimed, will enhance the value of neighbouring developments owned by Hammersons, the property company that employs the current Lord Mayor, in order to examine the potential conflicts of interest between the roles individuals play as members of the City Corporation and in their commercial and professional lives.
