Solo Properties Action Group

EDM number 2500 in 2010-12, proposed by Ian Mearns on 01/12/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Housing supply.

That this House welcomes the formation of the Solo Properties Action Group which has been established in response to the deceitful actions of Solo Properties, in South Shields; understands that the action group has evidence of systematic efforts over many years to defraud at least 18 British and Irish citizens who have invested in property in Bulgaria; notes that assurances of high standards of workmanship and avoidance of corrupt activities have proved to be fictitious; shares the concerns of the members of the group that their apartments will be confiscated or that they will lose large amounts of money; further notes that this will be through no fault of their own but rather due to fraudulent behaviour using off-shore accounts resulting in receipts of approximately 800,000 for Solo Properties; and urges all relevant authorities to take urgent action to protect the interests of those who bought apartments but who may now lose their investments.
