Categorised under the topics of Charities and Diseases.

That this House applauds the contribution of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, established by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE and now continued by Jane's husband Mike and family, which continues to raise millions of pounds for children's and cancer charities including Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and children's hospices, Martin House and Hannah House; congratulates all those who took part in the Jane Tomlinson Appeal 10th Anniversary Challenge, taking on an eight day challenge in which they completed the Paris Marathon and a six day cycle route to London ahead of the London Marathon via Hull and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal's home turf of Yorkshire, raising many thousands of pounds for the Appeal and associated charities; notes that the challenge marked 10 years since Jane became the first terminally-ill breast cancer patient to complete the London Marathon; appreciates the dedication and innovation of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and the many other charities working to fund and promote research into cancer and cancer treatments, often in memory of loved ones lost to the diseaseor inrecognition of having battled and survived cancer; and supports and encourages all efforts to help tackle this disease through charitable means.
