Reduction In Fuel Duty

EDM number 1107 in 2012-13, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 26/02/2013.
Categorised under the topics of Oil, petrol and natural gas, Roads and Taxation.

That this House notes the unprecedented price rises in fuel in recent weeks; further notes the much trumpeted delay in the introduction of a further duty increase by the Government in the Autumn Statement; and calls on the Government to assist motorists, industry, isolated regions of the UK hit hardest by these price increases and the overall economy by not just stalling on further increases but to introduce a reduction in fuel duty of at least 10 pence per litre which, in addition to helping these groups, would also assist the nation's recovery prospects.
