Housing Benefit And London Homeless

EDM number 718 in 2012-13, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 13/11/2012.
Categorised under the topics of Children and families, Homelessness and Housing benefits.

That this House is shocked at the reports from Shelter that 57,000 children in London have no permanent accommodation; notes that the housing benefit cap and rising private rents, together with the loss of benefits for young people is creating a housing disaster in London; and calls on the Government to lift the benefit cap, restore housing benefit to young people and bring forward legislation to control private sector rents.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
