Hugo Chavez
EDM number 859 in 2012-13, proposed by George Galloway on 17/12/2012.
Categorised under the topics of International politics and government and Latin America.
That this House notes the tremendous achievements of the Bolivarian Revolution over the last 14 years in Venezuela under the leadership of Hugo Chavez; further notes that Hugo Chavez was recently re-elected for a fourth term as President of Venezuela; observes that former US President Jimmy Carter has declared that `of the 92 elections that we've monitored, I would say the election process in Venezuela is the best in the world'; regrets that the cancer which Hugo Chavez has been afflicted with has returned and that President Chavez has had to undergo further surgery in Cuba; and gives him every good wish for a successful fight against cancer and a rapid recovery to full health.
This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
