Coventry City Football Club Accounts

EDM number 375 in 2013-14, proposed by Bob Ainsworth on 09/07/2013.
Categorised under the topics of Financial services and Sports.

That this House notes that Companies House has written to the directors of Coventry City Football Club (Holdings) Ltd (CCFC Ltd) warning them that they may face criminal proceedings if their overdue accounts are not filed; further notes that in the accounts for the year ending 31 May 2011 of CCFC Ltd, the company now in administration, 108 players, football staff and employees were registered; understands that the joint administrator Mr Appleton has been asked to check whether these accounts were signed off as correct by the company auditors, BDO; further understands that he has been unable to get an answer; believes that the issue of when and how assets assigned to CCFC Ltd were transferred elsewhere goes to the heart of whether there has been a conspiracy to defraud; calls on BDO to say whether it has been asked this question, whether it has provided an answer and whether indeed it signed off the accounts; further calls on the club's directors to give a full explanation of when and how those assets were moved; and further calls on them to file the long overdue company accounts 2012 for CCFC (Holdings) Ltd without further delay.

This motion has been signed by a total of 1 MPs.
