Sir Alex Ferguson (No. 3)

EDM number 39 in 2013-14, proposed by George Galloway on 08/05/2013.
Categorised under the topic of Sports.

That this House congratulates the greatest living Scotsman, Sir Alex Ferguson, on his memorable and inspirational achievements in football, too many to list in their entirety here; notes his unmatched managerial career, from league titles with Aberdeen and the capturing of the European Cup Winners' Cup, to 26 years at Manchester United where he won 38 trophies, including 13 league titles, two Champions League crowns, five FA Cups and four League Cups; welcomes the fact that although he may be stepping down as manager of the club he will continue to have a vital role at Manchester United; and sincerely hopes that from the end of the season he will be able to switch off the hairdryer and have more time to spend with family, friends and enjoying his wine cellar and on perfecting his piano skills.
