40th Birthday Of Grundfos

That this House notes the 40 successful years of Grundfos, the pump solutions company based in the City of Sunderland, which since 1973 has become a global leader in advanced pump solutions, a pioneer in water technology, the world's largest pump manufacturer, and one of Sunderland's most favoured and respected employers; further notes that Grundfos' innovative, new pumps have been used in the London Gateway project, and that the company has developed a groundbreaking new fire retardation system for B&Q stores; commends the company for employing more than 18,000 people globally whilst maintaining its roots in Sunderland as a family business; further commends the company for playing an active part in the Sunderland community, including working closely with a local school for secondary-age children with special educational needs, and for its involvement in the inaugural Work Discovery Week - Sunderland, which aims to help provide careers advice and opportunities to local young people; and expresses its desire that Grundfos' success in innovation and job creation in Sunderland and internationally should continue for another 40 years and more.
