That this House congratulates Thomas Cook Group PLC on its 175th anniversary; notes that the group's founder, Thomas Cook, organised his first excursion in 1841 from Leicester to Loughborough, which is signified by his statue outside Leicester railway station; commends Thomas Cook Group PLC for its transformation from humble beginnings into one of the world's leading leisure travel groups; further notes that the company employs over 9,250 people in the UK and employs over 22,000 people globally, operating across 15 countries; wishes the group well for another 175 years of successful business.
