Glasgow Hosts Homeless World Cup 2016

That this House congratulates Glasgow on hosting the Homeless World Cup (HWC) 216; notes that 64 teams representing 52 countries will come together to play in George Square from 10 to 16 July; welcomes the support of Glasgow Caledonian University, Act Global, STV, Tesco, Glasgow City Council, Scottish Government and the EU; appreciates the transformative impact of sport and understands that 94 per cent of participants in the HWC say that it positively impacted on their lives; and wishes all participants a successful tournament and encourages all residents and visitors to Glasgow to attend and cheer on the teams.
