Telegraph/aldi School Champion Award Winner, Cormack O'hara

EDM number 367 in 2016-17, proposed by Kirsten Oswald on 20/07/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Mental health, Schools and Sports.

That this House congratulates 15 year old Cormack O'Hara of Newton Mearns on his outstanding achievement in winning a Telegraph/Aldi School Champion Award; notes that Cormack, who attends Williamwood High School, is autistic, and has epilepsy and severe anxiety, which made transitioning to high school two years ago very challenging; applauds Cormack's sheer determination in dealing with these challenges by focusing on running; further notes that he recently became Scottish under-17 1,500 metres champion in the Paralympic T20 category; appreciates Cormack's commitment to his sport, his health and his well-being, as recognised by the judges of this prestigious award; and wishes him every continued success in running and beyond as he aims for Tokyo 2020.

This motion has been signed by a total of 35 MPs.
