CETA Trade Agreement

EDM number 599 in 2016-17, proposed by Kelvin Hopkins on 26/10/2016.
Categorised under the topic of International trade.

That this House congratulates the regional Wallonian Parliament on its decision to block the implementation of the CETA trade deal between the EU and Canada; considers that this was a brave and principled move, standing up for democracy against the corporate world and its collaborators in the EU; notes that CETA would incorporate the worst elements of the controversial and unpopular Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, including powers to enable companies to prosecute democratic governments in secret courts; and urges all democrats to oppose all attempts to impose such deals in future.

This motion has been signed by a total of 2 MPs.
