Hibernian Football Club Game-Changer

EDM number 788 in 2016-17, proposed by Ian Blackford on 08/12/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Community care, Homelessness and Sports.

That this House congratulates Hibernian Football Club on opening its doors on Christmas Day for those less fortunate; notes that the club has signalled its intent to provide a welcome home for those among the 4,000 homeless people in Edinburgh and the 40,000 elderly people in Scotland who will face Christmas Day alone; further notes that the game-changer Christmas will see the club provide Christmas lunch for up to 250 people, as well as a range of other activities; and commends the club for recognising the important role that football clubs can play as part of their wider community.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
