Confidence In Secretary Of State For Wales

EDM number 1460 in 2017-19, proposed by Jonathan Edwards on 26/06/2018.
Categorised under the topics of Ministers, Railways, Regional planning and development and Renewable energy.

That this House has no confidence in the Secretary of State for Wales; notes his inability to deliver two consecutive major infrastructure projects for Wales, despite manifesto promises, namely the cancellation of rail electrification on the South Wales Mainline and now the decision by the Government not to support the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon; further notes that the decision to reject the Tidal Lagoon came on the same day as the House approved the Government's plans for a £14 billion new runway at Heathrow; and believes that the Secretary of State has consistently not acted to advance or protect the Welsh economy, making his position untenable.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
