That this House recognises the work undertaken by Edinburgh Mela to produce a festival of music, dance and arts which celebrates Scotland's diverse culture; acknowledges the role of the stakeholders that support the Mela; considers Edinburgh Mela to be vital to cultural life in Edinburgh; notes the disappointment of Edinburgh Mela's cancellation in 2016; welcomes its successful return in 2017; and calls on the Government to commit to providing a platform for BAME artists and performers.
