Queen's Nurse Appointments In East Renfrewshire

EDM number 673 in 2017-19, proposed by Paul Masterton on 11/12/2017.
Categorised under the topic of Health staff and professions.

That this House congratulates East Renfrewshire residents, Hilary Alba, Kate McConville and Anne Burns on being awarded the title of Queen's Nurse; notes that this appointment by the Queen's Nursing Institute in Scotland was in recognition of Ms Alba's vital work as a community midwife in the Special Needs in Pregnancy Service, Ms McConville's high-quality and compassionate care across several care homes and Ms Burns' valuable service as Family Nurse Partnership supervisor; further notes that the prestigious title of Queen's Nurse is associated with excellence in the medical profession and awarded only to a select group of individuals; and acknowledges that the historic achievement is the first time the honour has been bestowed on a group of community nurses in Scotland in almost half a century.
