Staff Hospital Car Parking Charges (No. 2)

EDM number 791 in 2017-19, proposed by Robert Halfon on 15/01/2018.
Categorised under the topics of Health services, Health staff and professions and Roads.

That this House notes that staff in the vast majority of NHS hospitals in England must pay to park at their place of work; further notes that Government guidance released in 2014 stated that concessions, including free or reduced charges or caps, should be available for staff working shifts that mean public transport cannot be used; further notes that the availability of public transport services is more limited in some areas than others; notes that many hospitals charge employees based only on their pay band; is disappointed that more has not been achieved to get hospital staff a better deal; and urges the Government to scrap parking charges for hospital employees.
