Recycling In South Lakeland

EDM number 899 in 2017-19, proposed by Timothy Farron on 05/02/2018.
Categorised under the topic of Waste management.

That this House congratulates South Lakeland District Council on reaching its target of the 100 per cent recycling collection of plastic and card by investing in smaller recycling vehicles to access the most remote and hard to access properties; welcomes the news that the amount of waste being recycled is on the increase, with almost 60 tonnes more recycling than three years ago collected from the kerbside in South Lakeland in December 2017; and urges the Government to ensure that every household in the UK has access to comprehensive recycling facilities to allow for a sustained increase in recycling nationally.
