Erosion Of The Ozone Layer

That this House expresses deep concern about the reports from the European Ozone Research Co-ordinating Unit and United States Government scientists which indicate high atmospheric levels of chlorine sufficient to make a hole in the ozone layer covering the Northern Hemisphere; recognises that urgent action is needed to combat more rapidly the use of chlorofluorocarbons; and calls on the Government to convene the Montreal Protocol nations to re-negotiate complete withdrawal of chlorofluorocarbons at the earliest possible date to ensure full retention of the life protecting ozone layer.
