That this House applauds and acknowledges with great pleasure the achievements of Mr Richard Whiteley, who today celebrates his 30th anniversary of presenting and editing programmes for Yorkshire Television; notes his unsurpassable knowledge of who's who in the area, his unfailing good humour, courtesy and impartiality, his expertise in interviewing every Prime Minister since Harold Wilson, his presenting of 1,500 editions of Countdown, which regularly tops the Channel Four ratings, and the ease with which he has handled every tele vision problem on "Calendar", from political punch ups to the feeding habits of the ferret.
