Emergency Cold Weather Payments

EDM number 444 in 1990-91, proposed by Dawn Primarolo on 08/02/1991.

That this House notes the Government's announcement of its decision to suspend the six day qualification period for cold weather payments; also notes the increase in payments from ú5 to ú6; but believes that the Government should immediately suspend the strict rules to qualify for the payments, immediately extend eligibility to all those on income support and increase payments to a realistic level.
