West Midlands Regional Health Authority (No. 3)

EDM number 1145 in 1992-93, proposed by John Spellar on 12/01/1993.

That this House expresses its concern at the appointment of Sir Donald Wilson as the new Chairman of the West Midlands Regional Health Authority, noting the description of him by the past Chairman of the Health Select Committee as being a man who always has a hidden agenda and who would never share it with those who represented the people of the area and that he is determined, come hell or high water, to get his way, riding roughshod over the people of the area, their health provision and health services; and calls on the Secretary of State for Health to reflect whether this appointment will restore the confidence of the people of the West Midlands in their regional health authority and accordingly to reconsider this appointment.
