Links With Italian Fascists

EDM number 1415 in 1993-94, proposed by Ken Livingstone on 29/06/1994.

That this House believes that racism and fascism have no place in a democratic society and therefore condemns the inclusion in the Italian Government of ministers from the National Alliance, which includes the neo-fascist MSI, whose leader Gianfranco Fini has described Mussolini as Italy's greatest statesman of this century; and calls upon her Majesty's Government and all parties represented in Parliament to make clear that they will have no contact with representatives of the Italian National Alliance or indeed any of the other neo-fascist parties now represented in the European Parliament.
