Wigtown District Council

EDM number 1315 in 1994-95, proposed by George Foulkes on 28/06/1995.

That this House calls on the Secretary of State for Scotland to set up an inquiry into the plan by Wigtown District Council to transfer all its housing stock to a private housing association whose Chairman is the Chairman of the Council's Housing Committee, whose Secretary is the Council's housing officer using public money provided by the Council; and meanwhile orders the suspension of any action by the Council to transfer its housing stock.
