Compensation For Channel Islanders

EDM number 360 in 1994-95, proposed by Barry Sheerman on 11/01/1995.

That this House recognises the distress and suffering caused to Channel islanders during the Second World War; believes that those who were deported from the islands and interned in Germany should receive compensation from the German government; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to pursue strenuously this matter on behalf of those residents concerned.
