Barnsley Lead In Treatment For Alcohol And Substance Misuse

EDM number 1761 in 1997-98, proposed by Michael Clapham on 12/11/1998.

That this House congratulates the Kendray Hospital, supported by the health authority and the local authority, for providing Barnsley with a leading-edge Special Inpatient Unit able to individualise treatment services for alcohol and substance misuse and which has a facility to make rehabilitation arrangements for patients, supported by a team of experts led by Mr Mehta, a consultant in addiction psychiatry, who are able to plan all activities of care transferable to the patient's home environment to give positive and practical support to families and carers.
