Conservative Policies On Referendums

EDM number 186 in 1997-98, proposed by Paul Flynn on 01/07/1997.

That this House is intrigued by a letter sent by Conservative Central Office to all Conservative honourable Members, headed 'Referendums Are Dangerous', the day after the Leader of the Opposition demanded a referendum on the Amsterdam Treaty; and believes that the voters who decided that the Conservatives are not fit for Government now have evidence that they are also unfit for opposition.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
