Abattoirs And The Otms Scheme

That this House urges the Minister of Agriculture to investigate the seeming lack of importance given to the geographical locations of the abattoirs accepted in the recent tendering process for the over thirty month scheme and casualty cattle carried out by the Intervention Board; and further notes the increased distances cattle will have to be transported causing particular concern for the welfare of those animals which are casualty and therefore suffering ill health.
