Northern Ireland And The Abortion Act;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 352A1 in 1997-98, proposed by Harry Barnes on 28/10/1997.

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'notes that the Standing Advisory Commission on Human Rights says the abortion law in Northern Ireland is so uncertain that it violates the standards of international human rights law; further notes that the Abortion Act 1967 has not been extended to Northern Ireland but that about 2,000 women travel from Northern Ireland to England each year for abortions; and believes that it is ironic that many Unionists, who generally insist that Northern Ireland should be treated as any other part of the United Kingdom, do not extend this principle to the question of abortion choice.'.

This is a ammendment to 352.

This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
