CORNWALL'S OBJECTIVE ONE STATUS

EDM number 497 in 1998-99, proposed by Paul Tyler on 29/03/1999.

That this House congratulates the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly on the success of their united campaign, led by their MEP, Robin Teverson, to achieve EU Objective One Status; wishes them equal success in together determining the best possible economic, social and environmental strategy to ensure maximum benefit from their designation for One and All; hopes that Cornwall will be given every encouragement to get on with the urgent tasks at hand without unnecessary United Kingdom Government or European interference; and looks forward to a positive outcome to the campaign for Objective Two status for North and West Devon.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
