Pension Increase In April 2000;amdt. Line 2:

EDM number 921A1 in 1998-99, proposed by Frank Field on 20/10/1999.

at end add 'and believes the Government should help the poorest pensioners by raising the state retirement pension by ú15 for those over 80 at a cost of ú1.1 billion, which could be funded from the ú5.9 billion excess surplus currently in the National Insurance accounts.'.
