Amendment Of The Local Government Act 1988 (No. 2)

That this House notes with concern the inconsistency of 28 Labour Members of Parliament who sit for Scottish constituencies, namely the Right honourable Members for Airdrie and Shotts, Hamilton North and Bellshill, and East Kilbride and the honourable Members for Aberdeen Central, Aberdeen North, Aberdeen South, Cunninghame North, Cunninghame South, Ayr, Dumfries, Dundee West, Clydebank and Milngavie, Edinburgh North and Leith, Edinburgh, Pentlands, Edinburgh South, Falkirk East, Kirkcaldy, Glasgow, Cathcart, Govan, Glasgow, Maryhill, Rutherglen, Glasgow, Shettleston, Inverness East, Nairn and Lochaber, Greenock and Inverclyde, Motherwell and Wishaw, Paisley North, Stirling, and Western Isles, who voted on 25th July to preserve section 28 of the Local Government Act 1988, which applies to England and Wales, while supporting abolition of the same provision for their own constituents in Scotland.
