Theft Of Petrol From Service Station Forecourts

EDM number 1153 in 1999-00, proposed by Bob Laxton on 14/11/2000.

That this House calls upon the Secretary of State for the Home Department to amend existing legislation relating to the issue of registration plates for vehicles in the light of an increase in the theft of petrol from service station forecourts and the use of false number plates by thieves to avoid detection by making identification of the vehicle and its owner impossible.
