Newcastle United Supporters Save Our Seats Campaign

EDM number 559 in 1999-00, proposed by Derek Wyatt on 23/03/2000.

That this House notes the actions of Newcastle United Football Club in its forced relocation of 4,000 loyal and longstanding fans to accommodate extra corporate seating in the redeveloped stadium; recalls that the fans were sold these specific seats in 1994 for 10 years to create major revenue at a time when the club was in need of financial assistance; welcomes the judge's view that there was an alternative solution in the new upper tiers; and urges the Government to implement the recommendation of the Football Task Force.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
