Grand Cinema, Clitheroe

EDM number 724 in 1999-00, proposed by Nigel Evans on 15/05/2000.

That this House congratulates the Trinity Community Project on the re-opening of the Clitheroe Grand Cinema on Saturday 13th May 2000 with the special showing of the 1961 film, 'Whistle Down the Wind'; thanks John Lancaster and all the volunteers for helping to rescue a part of the culture and heritage of the United Kingdom; and further believes that this cinema dating back to 1921, featuring many of the original features, should be listed for the enjoyment of future generations.
