Transforming The Care System

That this House congratulates the Government on its own amendments to the Children (Leaving Care) Bill, which extend statutory duties to 21; and believes that, together with 'Quality Protects', the establishment of 'A National Voice' and the Children's Rights Director within the Care Standards Commission, this will eventually transform the care system, at last providing something which is worthy of the brave, resilient and amazing children within it and of dedicated staff who have kept going during the most difficult times, laying sound foundations for a service of which this country will eventually be proud rather than utterly ashamed.
