Spyros Kyprianou

That this House mourns the death of Spyros Kyprianou, who in a 50 year career served Cyprus as Minister of Justice, Minister of Foreign Affairs, twice as President of the House of Representatives, and as President of the Republic continuously from 1977 to 1988, and who will be deeply mourned by his many friends, not least in this House, for his congenial company, by his colleagues in the democratic party, Diko, which he founded as an inspirational orator and leader, and by the people of Cyprus as a loyal and constant servant; and offers condolences at this sad time to his widow, Mimi, and his sons, Achilleas and Markos Kyprianou.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
