Mutual Insurance

EDM number 1322 in 2001-02, proposed by Mark Hendrick on 15/05/2002.

That this House welcomes the results of an analysis of the Money Management annual with-profit returns from UK mutuals and plcs over the last four years, released by the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation; notes that the results clearly demonstrate that mutuals offer higher average returns of up to more than 20 per cent. than that of plcs; and urges the Government to recognise the important role that mutuals play in ensuring competition and value for money for the consumer.

This motion has been signed by a total of 60 MPs.
