Public Holiday For The World Cup Final

EDM number 1472 in 2001-02, proposed by Tony Banks on 18/06/2002.

That this House congratulates Sven-Goran Eriksson and the England team on their excellent progress so far in the World Cup; calls upon Her Majesty's Government to make an early announcement that in the eventuality of England securing a place in the World Cup Final on 30th June a public holiday for the United Kingdom will be declared for 1st July.
