Ventilation In Portcullis House

EDM number 30 in 2001-02, proposed by Barry Gardiner on 26/06/2001.

That this House notes the immense discomfort that staff are suffering in Portcullis House due to the total lack of ventilation and a working air-conditioning system; notes that there has been a lack of communication with staff and honourable Members about the failure of the ventilation system and the work being undertaken to resolve it; notes that the heat is exacerbated on the fifth floor due to the design of the building that does not allow windows to be opened; further notes that compensation should be sought from the designer of the ventilation system for their failure to deliver a system conducive to a good working environment; and urges that all necessary action be taken to resolve this problem as an immediate priority.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
