Support For Parish And Town Councils

That this House recognises the important role that parish and town councils play in providing local services and leadership for their communities; congratulates the Government on its support for such councils with particular regard to transport, community institutions and local democracy; and encourages it to make greater use of this first level of local government, in liaison with the Countryside Agency.
